In 2012, Next Generation Family Production was working out of the Munich scene with a rootsy, singer-friendly riddim that left plenty of room for the message to breathe. Raspect leans into conscious reggae rather than anything flashy, and that suits a lineup headed by Luciano, Lutan Fyah, Fantan Mojah and Perfect Giddimani, with “Jah Army, ” “Respect and Manners” and “Lootin’ and Shootin’” hitting the sweetest spot between meditation and militant edge. Fyah T’s “No Raspect” ties the set together with a sharper title and a grittier stance, while the whole thing feels less like a random compilation than a producer crew keeping a clean, disciplined sound across a full session. It sits comfortably alongside the label’s later work, but this one already shows how Next Generation Family liked to frame uplifting, road-tested roots voices around a steady, melodious cut.
