Questions Riddim (2017) – Drop Di Bass

Questions Riddim comes in as a straight-up 2017 reggae juggling from Drop Di Bass, with Freddy Kruger steering a compact nine-track set that leans hard on conscious singjay material and a clean, digital-rooted pulse. Sanchez sets the tone on “Same Way That You Are, ” while Zamunda’s “Can’t Undo” and Rasta Life’s “Took Your Life Away” keep the tension high, and Kruger even steps in twice, including the title cut and “Chucky Riddim, ” which gives the project a little extra producer-led identity. The line-up also runs through P-Zed, Kontractor, Menny More and Dameek featuring Drastyk, so the riddim moves between love songs, warning tunes and harder-edged reflections without losing its shape. Kruger, born Andre Lee, had already been building a reputation through Drop Di Bass before this set, and the release landed with nine original cuts in all.
