QMIA RIDDIM produced by QMIA PRODUCTIONS 2012
Qmia Overview
In 2016, the dancehall scene was buzzing when QMIA PRODUCTIONS dropped the Qmia Riddim. This riddim started its journey in a small Kingston studio, where the studio hand worked late nights, making sure every drum and synth was clean and sharp. QMIA PRODUCTIONS, known for their tight production and a few viral riddims before this, wanted something special for the selectors and the dancers. The riddim’s energy caught the ears of some of dancehall’s most trusted voices. Patexx stepped in with “Bare Back,” bringing his signature style that fans knew from his collaborations with Bounty Killer. Flexxx, who had made waves with “No Hotta Than You,” added his cool, confident flow. Stacious, celebrated for her hit “This Night Would Last Forever,” gave the riddim a touch of smoothness and power. Andrew And Wada Blood, with their song “Get Love,” brought a rootsy vibe, reminding listeners of their family connection to Junior Reid. Rdx, famous for dance anthems and the chart-topping “Facebook,” delivered a catchy tune that selectors loved to spin. Other voices like Iyara with “Caah Play Inna My Face” and “Caah Sidung Inna My Face,” Kibaki with “Keep On Coming For More,” and General Degree’s “First Class” added more layers to the tape. When the Qmia Riddim hit the streets, it was more than just another release. It was a yard session tape that proved the strength and unity of Jamaican studios in 2016. Selectors found new fire, and the dancehall crowd kept coming back for more.
