PSYCHOTIC RIDDIM produced by YGF | ATCHYAH 2017
Psychotic Overview
In 2017, a dancehall collection called Psychotic Riddim appeared and quickly caught the attention of reggae fans and selectors. This collection was made in Jamaica, the home of dancehall, and became known for its high-energy sound and ability to get people moving. Psychotic Riddim helped several new artists get their first big break in dancehall. Buck1 stood out with his track “Psychotic,” showing off his unique style and energy. Jahvillani brought his own flavor to the riddim with “Jesus.” Jahvillani later became known for songs like “Wileside Government” and for being a leading voice in the new wave of dancehall. Deep Jahi contributed the song “Success,” adding a thoughtful and melodic side to the collection. Vershon’s “Street Bun Off” was another highlight, and Vershon is also known for his hit single “Inna Real Life,” which earned him wider recognition in the reggae world. Devin Di Dakta, who performed “3x,” had already made a mark by being nominated for a Grammy Award in 2016 as part of the duo Devin & J.L for the album “Sly & Robbie Presents… Reggae for Her.” The producer behind Psychotic Riddim is YGF | ATCHYAH, a name linked to the YGF Records label. YGF has worked with many top dancehall artists and is known for modern, clean production that connects with young fans. The fusion of styles on this riddim helped define its sound.
