In 2015, when dancehall was leaning hard into quick-hit digital riddims and club-ready hooks, YGF and Junkyard Music came through with Club Banger Riddim, a compact seven-song set that keeps the tempo lean and the mood geared for the dance. Jahvillani’s “See Mi and Dweet” and Zamunda’s “Rich” give the project its sharpest pull, while High Degree’s “Nuh Boring Gal” and Negus on “Pretty Figure” ride the same space without breaking the pulse; the production has that taut, stripped-down bounce that leaves plenty of room for the voices to cut through.
