Back in 2002, dancehall was deep in that fast-moving, minimalist stretch, and the Playstation Riddim sits right in the middle of it with a hard, lean bounce that leaves plenty of room for the voices to cut through. True Blue Family line it up with seven cuts, but the sharpest names here are Beenie Man on “Hurt Mi Heart, ” Elephant Man pairing with Einstein on “Show Off, ” and Ghost sliding in with “On Top Of It All, ” each one leaning into the riddim’s clipped pulse rather than trying to overpower it. There’s a nice contrast between Einstein’s “Life” and Lukie D’s “Hot Girls Again, ” too, which keeps the set moving without losing its edge. It closes with Wekend’s “Deny It, ” a fitting final pass on a compact 2002 dancehall package.

    Playstation Tracklist:

    1. Beenie Man – Hurt Mi Heart

    4. Ghost – On Top Of It All
    5. Lukie D – Hot Girls Again
