Party Hard Riddim (2013) – High Expectations Productions

Akil’s “Grounded” gives Party Hard Riddim a firm opening, but High Expectations Productions clearly had a bigger carnival-ready picture in mind, lining up a pile of soca cuts that chase the same late-night party energy from different angles. Kari Jess turns up twice, with “Summer Party Tun Up” and “Get Gyal Easy” pushing the lighter, more flirtatious side of the set, while Merchant’s “Party and A Love Me Self” and Caldinho’s “Raving Liad” keep the vibe in full bacchanal mode. There’s also a nice contrast in the middle with Advantage and Vietnam’s “No Want You No More” and Kyannon’s “Rave We A Rave, ” which lean into the chant-along side of the riddim without losing the bounce. The strongest pull here is Akil’s opener, which sets the pace before Kari Jess comes back to close the loop with the kind of glossy, festival-minded energy that keeps the whole thing moving.
