Own Zone Riddim – The Tech- Head

Own Zone Riddim keeps the focus tight with just three vocal cuts and a version, and that lean setup gives Jemynie’s production room to breathe. There’s a clipped, straight-ahead dancehall feel to the rhythm, and you can hear how naturally it sits under his own title track before Jah Villani comes in on “Fraid Fi War” with a more militant edge. Karamanti’s “Bun Andrew and Portia” is the sharpest moment of the set, adding some personality and bite without breaking the flow. The project came out under The Tech-Head Records banner in 2014, with all the songs mixed and mastered by Jemynie at 5 Stars Recording Studio, a neat little detail that fits the hands-on feel of the whole thing.
