Osmosis Riddim – Hungry Lion Records

Hungry Lion Records keeps Osmosis Riddim lean and vocal-led, a four-track dancehall set that leans more into sharp hooks than big compilation overload. Released in 2019, it pulls together Iba Mahr, Fya Doops, Vershon and Chronic Law, and the pairing of Vershon’s “Dancehall Party” with Chronic Law’s “Mi Remember” gives the project its strongest push. Hungry Lion, a Kingston label active since 2013, has a habit of aiming for clean, contemporary JA dancehall, and that comes through here in the tight sequencing and short runtime. The order feels deliberate: Iba Mahr opens with “Be Careful, ” Fya Doops follows with “Better Life, ” and the last two cuts tighten the energy rather than stretch it out.
