Earl Sixteen is the anchor on One People Riddim, and his pair of cuts — “Ocean Meets The Dub” and “Ocean Meets The Skies” — set the tone with that deep rootsy, slightly spacious feel that made late-2000s reggae one-riddim projects so easy to get lost in. One People Productions keeps the arrangement lean and direct, letting the horns and bass do most of the talking, while Ras Zacharri’s “Rise My People” pushes the whole thing a little higher with its conscious lift. Ras Adam and Wendy Wonder with Ilawy round out the vocal side, and the producer even slips in the “Hornsman Version” for a short instrumental breather. It’s a compact six-track set, 2008 vintage, with just enough room for the voices to breathe.
