ONE MAN ARMY RIDDIM produced by NEW ELEMENTS ENTERTAINMENT
One Man Army Overview
In 2013, a new dancehall set began its journey in a modest Kingston studio. The producer, NEW ELEMENTS ENTERTAINMENT, was no stranger to the dancehall world, having built a reputation for crisp, energetic riddims and a steady stream of club hits. Their label had already made waves with previous releases that gained traction both locally and online, racking up thousands of streams and fueling dancehall’s ongoing evolution. The creation of this set was a team effort. At the mixing desk, sound engineer Mark “Bassline” Henry worked late nights, shaping each beat and bassline with precision. The riddim was designed to ignite dance floors, and Henry’s touch gave it a polished, powerful sound. Once the instrumental was ready, the call went out to some of the scene’s most dynamic voices. Dotta Coppa brought raw energy to “One Man Army,” while Flash Raggedy delivered a warning with “Caution.” K Queens and Micklaay joined forces on “Dem Nuh Badda Dan We (Remix) Ft. Micklaay,” adding a fresh twist to the original “Dem Nuh Badda Dan We” by K Queens. Kibaki kept the momentum strong with “Dem Cyah.” Kym Hamilton’s “Guns Out” and Micklaay’s solo version of “One Man Army” added more depth. The riddim itself, titled “One Man Army Riddim” by New Elements, tied the project together, with Singing Sweet’s “Like Ruff” rounding out the set. From studio sessions to club speakers across Jamaica, this dancehall set became a staple, echoing through countless nights and marking its place in dancehall history.
