One Drop Mystic Riddim – Jumpout Productions

Warm pulse. Jumpout Productions leans into a classic one-drop feel here, but the cut isn’t sleepy or museum-piece roots; it moves with enough bounce to keep the lineup of veterans and newer voices in the same lane. Ed Robinson’s “A Life Without You, ” Pinchers’ “Everybody Knows, ” and Mikey Melody’s “Bad Mood” give the riddim its deepest roots-reggae pull, while Chyna Nicole and Apache Santana keep the set from tilting too far back in time. The project landed in 2019 as an 11-song compilation and, by all accounts, took shape over a six-month stretch, with New York-based Gary Sutherland steering the production and aiming for a slower pace than his earlier work. If one tune really locks the mood in place, it’s Ed Robinson’s graceful turn, which sits right at the center of the riddim’s mystic sway.
