One A Way Riddim – Scikron Production

Fambo’s “I’m Drinking Lemonade” is the cut that gives One A Way Riddim its first bit of sparkle, with that easy soca bounce and cheeky title setting the tone before Richie Loop slides into the smoother, flirtier “Love Zone” and Cecile closes things out with the more assertive “Vibrate. ” Scikron Production keeps the whole 2011 three-track set tight and breezy, more party-starter than big-canvas carnival project, and the small cast lets each voice land without crowding the groove. Richie Loop’s track feels especially well matched to the production, riding the rhythm’s light-footed swing without overworking it, while Cecile brings a sharper edge to the finish. Just three songs, but enough to leave the riddim’s bright hook hanging in the air.
