Nine cuts deep, the Nymphomaniac Riddim leans on a sharp little 2011 dancehall lineup with Vybz Kartel’s title tune, Popcaan’s “Nuh Box Pon Jaw, ” and Tommy Lee’s “Stocking Up Di Paper” doing most of the heavy lifting. UIM Records keeps the rhythm taut and moody, with that late-2000s/early-2010s Gaza-era energy running through the whole juggling: stripped-back drums, a tense pulse, and room for the deejays to cut cleanly through. Bugle’s “Kush” and Jahmiel’s “Dem Eye Red” add a different shade to the set, while the presence of both clean and raw versions of Kartel’s “Nymphomaniac” gives the project a proper centerpiece and underlines how much the riddim was built around that tune.
