Nude Riddim – Reggae Vibes

Nude Riddim lands with that raw early-2000s dancehall energy, the kind that lets a catchy hook and a sharp patter line do the heavy lifting. Reggae Vibes put together a crowded 2003 set, and the pairing of Ce’cile’s “Black Man” with Elephant Man’s “There I Go” gives it a nice push-pull between attitude and crowd motion, while Lady Saw’s “Ball It Out” and Sean Paul’s “My Girl” keep the temperature high. The riddim itself was handled by Jah Mike and Ce’cile, which adds a little extra character to the project, and you can hear that in how the voices ride the rhythm without getting in each other’s way; even Josie Wales and Mr. Easy fit right into the pocket. A tidy little afterglow from a year that was packed with them.
