Noisrev Riddim – Ancient Mystic Production

Jamaica’s early-2000s roots scene had plenty of sturdy one-riddim exercises, and Noisrev sits right in that pocket: a lean 2004 set from Ancient Mystic Production with just four cuts, fronted by Alpha Rowen’s “Stinking System, ” Luciano’s “Nothing Come Easy, ” and Norris Man’s “On Your Own. ” Luciano is the anchor here, slipping his familiar clarity into a tune that leans on patient, conscience-minded writing rather than flash, while Norris Man keeps the same straight-ahead roots pressure going. Alpha Rowen, listed here as Rolex on the track, adds the rougher edge, which gives the riddim a little extra bite. Ancient Mystic was already working this lane around the same period, and Noisrev fits neatly alongside that run of compact, singer-led productions from the label.
