MTR Riddim leans into tough, road-ready dancehall, the sort of spare, hard-edged juggling that gives each voice plenty of room to cut through. Produced by Extal D’Ultimate Dream Team Ent in 2015, the set runs five tracks deep and keeps the sequencing tight, with Jamal Pre’s “Hot Spot, ” Quaa’s “Nuh Chat, ” Ryme Minista’s “Killi Killi, ” Masicka’s “Shoot Up Di Place, ” and Teejay’s “Gun Dem Buss” all lined up in quick succession. Masicka and Teejay are the names that jump out first, especially on the more militant cuts.
