Zero Grudge Riddim (Gospel Dancehall) – Freshfire

Freshfire leans into the churchyard side of dancehall here, with a brisk, chant-friendly riddim that keeps the bass moving while leaving plenty of space for the vocals to carry the message. The five-song set has a tight, no-frills feel, and Emrand Henry’s “Nuttin New” is the one that lingers longest thanks to the way he rides the rhythm with more bite than the title suggests. Marky T’s “Life Witchout You” and St Andrew’s “Nuh Normal” keep the same devotional energy, while Gyamma and LM Fi Dem round out the lineup without crowding the tune out. Released in July 2015, Zero Grudge fits neatly beside Freshfire’s gospel dancehall work from that period: compact, purpose-built, and more focused on conviction than polish.
