Mother Love Riddim lands in that early-2021 dancehall pocket where the production keeps things clean and direct, with seven cuts moving across the same compact groove from Ajauni’s title tune to Radar’s closer, “My Mind. ” Black Street Music keeps the riddim tight at just under 21 minutes, and the strongest moments come when the singers lean into the theme in different ways: Ajauni opens with the sentimental pull of “Mother Love, ” while Empress and Prohcess bring a more reflective edge on “Stay Alive” and “Wanna Be More. ” DaProfessor’s “Friendship for Sale” and Jabass’s “Life” add a bit more grit, giving the set some contrast without breaking its flow.
