Echo Dan kicks off Cool Motion Riddim with “Slow Whine, ” and that opener sets the tone for a small but tightly cut 2019 dancehall set from Prince I-Rae Entertainment. The project runs just five tracks, with Insideeus and K. Sling each getting raw and clean versions of their songs, so the focus stays on a few voices rather than a crowded lineup. That gives the riddim a neat, stripped-back feel, the kind that lets the rhythm carry the weight while the vocals do their own sort of drifting and flexing. Insideeus’ “Feel Alive” is the one that keeps pulling you back, especially with both versions sitting side by side, but Sling’s “Take Me Home” gives the riddim its most polished turn.
