Mildew Riddim – Uim Records

Andrew “Anju Blaxx” Myrie’s UIM Records put Mildew Riddim into the dancehall conversation in 2015, and the set landed with enough weight to travel fast through the sound system and mixtape circuit. The riddim has that mid-tempo, brooding pulse that lets the drums breathe while the bass stays heavy and patient, giving the vocals room to land with attitude rather than rush the pocket.

The lineup is led by some of the era’s sharpest names. Popcaan’s “Way Up” brings his cool-headed singjay swagger, while Mavado’s “Story” adds that gravel-voiced drama he built his career on. Alkaline’s “Nice Suh” fits the darker, clipped style that pushed him into the spotlight around that time, and Bugle’s “Secrets” gives the riddim one of its more emotionally direct moments. Chris Martin’s “Under The Influence” adds a smoother, more melodic touch, balancing the harder-edged cuts around it.

There are also stronger support turns from Blak Diamon, Franchizze, Iya Champs, Keely featuring Cecile, Propa Fade, and RR, which helps the project feel like a full juggling rather than a two-song vehicle. The producer closes the set with the instrumental, underlining how cleanly the arrangement works on its own. Mildew Riddim sits comfortably among the tighter 2015 dancehall releases: dark, tuneful, and built for repeated play rather than one quick spin.
