Many Waves Riddim – E Square

C Moni’s “Holding On” opens Many Waves Riddim with the kind of lean, mid-tempo step that keeps the whole set moving, and E Square keeps the 2017 juggling tight at seven tracks and just over 21 minutes. The lineup splits between reflective singjay cuts and harder-edged dancehall talk: Jahvauri’s “Rich Man Side Chick” and Prohgres’ “Determine” lean into struggle-and-ambition themes, while Skorpioh and Yanky Yankz fire off “Street Nuh Friendly” with a sharper warning tone. Tee Jay’s “Nuh Trust Dem” sits nicely in that tension, but Deep Jahi’s “My Light” gives the riddim its brightest moment, riding the groove with a more uplifted pull. By the time Jegz closes with “White Rice Pot, ” the project has already made its shape clear, and Deep Jahi is the one who leaves the strongest mark.
