MAJOR MISSION RIDDIM produced by ONE MISSION ENTERTAINMENT 2017
Major Mission Overview
In 2017, dancehall music was full of energy and new sounds from Jamaica’s yard studios. The Major Mission Riddim was one of those releases that showed just how strong the local scene was. The riddim mixed tough, hardcore beats with catchy hooks that listeners could remember. The project was produced by ONE MISSION ENTERTAINMENT, a label known for working with both new and established artists in dancehall. They brought together a group of talented voices and made sure the music sounded smooth and well-balanced. Each artist on the riddim added their own style. Iyara, who rose to fame as a member of Bounty Killer’s Alliance Next Generation, brought sharp lyrics to his song “Dem Nuh Brave.” Pinchers, famous for his 1986 hit “Agony,” delivered “Proper Badd,” showing his experience and smooth delivery. Diamond Chypz kept things lively with “Car, House And Things,” adding youthful energy to the mix. Chuck Fender, best known for conscious tracks like “Gash Dem” and “I Swear,” showed a different side with “Bad Boy.” Terry Ganzie, who made his mark in the 1990s with hits like “Welcome the Outlaw,” contributed “Good Reason,” bringing a veteran touch to the riddim. Other artists like Jaggy D with “Mek Dem Know” and Wilful Skilful with “Trouble Trouble” completed the line-up, each bringing their own flavor. The Major Mission Riddim stands as proof of the creativity and strength of Jamaica’s dancehall producers and artists in 2017.
