Mad Siquence hits with a tight, stripped-back dancehall pulse that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to carry the sting. Eltoro Productions keeps the energy lean and functional, and Cubanis’ “When Mi Rise It” feels like the sharpest cut here, with the kind of straight-up forward motion that suits the riddim’s clipped bounce. Etalian, Icomet and Strappa each slide into that same pocket differently, so the sequence never settles into one mood for too long. It’s a six-track set from 2011, and the whole thing has that early-2010s street-dancehall grit, right down to Tjc’s “Tight Muscule” and Upt Uptown’s “Hair Braid No Fade” at the end.
