By 2017, Catchy Record had tucked Like The Wind Riddim into the year’s crop of lean, vocal-led reggae compilations, and this one keeps the focus on message songs rather than big studio trickery. Seven cuts deep, it leans on a clean, steady one-drop feel with a bright guitar figure and a warm low end that leaves plenty of room for the singers to work. Diligence’s “Show You Some Loving” and Exile Di Brave’s “Selfish World” set the tone early, while Teacha Dee’s “Mankind” brings a firmer roots edge and Torch’s “Smoking” gives the set a slightly tougher closing shade.
