Young Talent Entertainment had a busy 2013 run, and Kayak Possie sits right in that same pocket of early-decade soca energy: quick, jumpy, and made for the road. The six-track set keeps the focus on party-ready vocals rather than big studio polish, with Young G’s “Alternator” and Deva’s “Pour It Up” pushing the kind of greedy, bottle-raising mood that fit the season, while Creff’s “Wet T Shirt (Soak Yuh)” leans harder into the sweaty fete side of things. Dira X Mystique’s “Whining All Night” adds a flirtier edge, and Teddy Rhymez closes it out with “Good Company, ” which gives the riddim a friendlier, sing-along finish.
