With seven tracks and seven different voices, G. String Riddim keeps the focus on the lineup rather than any one big-name pull, though Karain’s cut with Mavado gives the set an easy hook and a bit more weight than the rest of the cast. Young Talent Entertainment frames it with a clean 2014 reggae swing that leaves room for the singers to work, from Shazeke and Soul Gifted on “Let Me Love You” to Luvelle and Addis on “Got It Going On, ” while “Caribbean Breeze” and “Bottle” keep the project moving in lighter, more melodic territory.
