In 1994, a new dancehall riddim started its journey in the studios of ROOKIE PRODUCTION. Known for their creative touch in the early '90s, ROOKIE PRODUCTION helped shape the sound of Jamaican dancehall. Their work brought a fresh energy to the scene, making their name respected among selectors and fans. The creation of the John Crow Riddim was all about blending vibrant melodies with a strong dancehall beat. It quickly caught the attention of top artists. Beenie Man, already making waves with hits like “Who Am I (Sim Simma),” delivered “Mr Press Button” on this riddim. Buccaneer, known for his pirate-themed style and the song “Boom Bye Bye,” added his own flavor with “Hay Yah Hay Yah.” Fluffy D joined in with “Change Yu Plan,” bringing a different vibe. Other artists also stepped up. Frisco Kid offered “Enamel,” while the legendary Tenor Saw teamed up with Pyceral for “John Crow.” Tenor Saw’s voice was already famous from reggae classics like “Ring the Alarm.” The project also featured “Can Do Without You” from Twiggy & General Degree.
