Sikka Rymes kicks off Jackpot Riddim with “Party Bad So, ” and that’s the right place to start: his voice cuts through Christopher G Records’ brisk, celebratory dancehall cut with the kind of sly swagger that keeps a riddim moving. The five-track set, from 2018, leans into party talk and streetwise flexing, with Popeye Caution’s “Big Win” threading a little motivational energy through the shuffle and Liquid’s “Bush Like George” bringing in Versi for one of the more pointedly cheeky moments. Grizzley Boss ups the energy again on “Thump, ” while Akeem Shella closes the sequence with “Gyal King, ” giving the project a neat final turn toward outright flirtation. Christopher G keeps the production lean and uptempo, and Sikka Rymes’ opener leaves the sharpest impression.
