In 2017, soca was leaning hard into crisp, carnival-ready road tunes, and Jack Frost Riddim fit right into that moment with a compact seven-track set from Bass Ink Production. The title track’s actual release date landed on June 16, 2017, while a separate Teddyson John cut from the same project, “Mile High, ” surfaced later that summer, which helps place the riddim in the middle of that busy pre-carnival run. Ricardo Drue’s “Break Up” and Lil Rick’s “Advantage Of Me” give the set some early lift, and Skinny Fabulous turns up the pressure again on “Bad Man, ” with King Bubba FM, Joaquin, Tony “Rebel” Bailey, and Shanta Prince filling out the rest.
