Five Island Riddim finds MSK MuSiK Productions in a tidy, five-track soca frame that leans more on jump-up movement than big studio gloss, with Blaxx and Teddyson John’s “Just So” setting the tone up front. The cut list keeps the focus on melody and easy roll-through hooks: Dale Ryan’s “You Too Lie, ” Keone’s “Hook On It, ” and Ricardo Drue’s “Friendaversary” all ride the same brisk groove, while the instrumental points back to the producer’s hand on the arrangement. Released in 2019 and issued through Central Records, the project clocks in at just over 15 minutes, so there’s no wasted space.
