JAB JAB RIDDIM (SOCA) – MILLBEATZ ENTERTAINMENT & MADMEN PRODUCTION 2014
Jab Jab Overview
The Jab Jab Riddim came to life under the guidance of Martian Music, a label known for pushing soca sounds forward in Trinidad and Tobago. Their work on this project helped set the mood for Carnival 2014, bringing a fresh but classic energy to the streets and airwaves. Two of soca’s top voices, Iwer George and Olatunji Yearwood, played a big part in making the riddim memorable. Iwer George, famous for his energetic performances and major Carnival hits, delivered “Jab Jab Life.” Iwer has long been a staple in the soca scene, with his song “Ah Feeling” winning the Road March title in 2007—a big milestone in his career. His contribution to the Jab Jab Riddim added a powerful presence, blending well with the lively instruments. Olatunji Yearwood, another strong name in soca, brought “Mad Up In This” to the mix. Olatunji made headlines when he won the International Soca Monarch title in 2015, just a year after this release, showing his growing influence in the genre. His style on “Mad Up In This” matched the joyful spirit of Carnival, helping the riddim stand out. Behind the scenes, the arrangement was handled by Precision Productions, a team well respected for their work in Caribbean music. Their skillful touch made sure the horns and drums carried the true feeling of the festival. With its bold rhythms and lively melodies, the Jab Jab Riddim release became a Carnival anthem in 2014, lighting up parties and parades across the island.
