    Infrared Riddim lands in that late-2000s dancehall pocket where the groove is all about pressure: a clipped, driving pulse under thick low end, with the vocalists riding it hard rather than stretching out. H2O Records lined up some heavy hitters for the 2008 set, including Beenie Man on “Boiling Day, ” Mavado on “Japanese, ” Munga with “Gangstas Nuh Falla, ” and Sean Paul on “Moaning, ” while T. O. K and Elephant Man keep the energy moving around the edges. The draw here is the format as much as the names — edit and raw versions sit side by side, which makes the riddim’s shape easier to hear in real time. It’s a taut, metallic dancehall cut, built for sharp phrasing, bass weight, and quick changes in the deejay delivery.
