Horse Tonic Riddim – Full Chaarge Records

Horse Tonic rides on a stripped-back, mid-tempo dancehall swing that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to cut through, and Full Chaarge Records keep the riddim lean with just four tunes in the juggling. Devin Da Dakta opens with the cheeky “Gyal Dem A Workie, ” Posh Morris leans right into the title cut, Khausion goes straight to business on “Do It, ” and Raytid closes with the sharper-edged “Prove Yourself. ” It’s a compact lineup, but the sequencing gives it a nice push-and-pull between flirtation, bragging rights, and straight talk. Posh Morris’ “Horse Tonic” feels like the anchor, while Devin Da Dakta’s opener gives the set its early spark and sets the tone for the rest of the ride.
