Horny Riddim – Natral Enterprise

By 2014, Natral Enterprise had this one pitched squarely in the dancehall lane, and “Horny Riddim” keeps the focus on cheeky, sex-forward chants over a brisk, stripped-back groove. Lucky Charm’s “F**K Mi Baby, ” High Voltage’s “Gwan Mi Gyal, ” and Potential Kid’s “Nuh Guh Dung Deh” give it most of its heat, while Sasique and Wissy Wissy keep the energy bouncing with tighter, more rhythmic cuts. The production is all about movement rather than polish: lean drums, a nagging synth figure, and enough low-end to keep the DJ mix rolling without crowding the vocals. Natral Enterprise even step in with “Tek Dah Wuk Yah, ” which reads like the producer staking a claim right in the middle of the party. It closes with the “Horny Riddim Instrumental, ” leaving the bare framework on display and underlining how much the whole project depends on that wiry, forward-driving pulse.
