Hot Spot Riddim – Markus Records

Four cuts, and this one reads like a tight little dancehall set rather than a sprawling juggling. Bryka gets the first swing with “Remy Grand Cru, ” I-Octane locks in the title tune, and Vybz Kartel turns up on “Show Me Your Motion” under his Addi Innocent alias, which gives the EP a nice bit of early-2014 heat. The whole thing landed in July 2014 as a Markus Records release, issued with 21st Hapilos Digital, and that timing fits the era’s sharp, digital dancehall push. Markus closes the sequence with the instrumental, so the structure feels deliberate: song, song, headline cut, then the riddim bare, letting the producer leave the final word on the rhythm itself.
