Out of Trinidad’s wider roots-and-riddim circuit, Ted Ganung’s Hollow Body Riddim landed in 2014 with a sound that’s more skeletal and experimental than the average one-drop set, pairing acoustic reggae feel with electronic edges and a hefty low end. Lutan Fyah’s “More Than Life” feels like the anchor here, while Khari Kill’s “Sirens” and Jah Defender’s “Reptilian” push the meditation toward street pressure and social unease; Major Mackerel’s “Princes, Prophets and Priests” adds a heavier historical weight. Ted Ganung’s own instrumental sits at the center like a blueprint, and the whole thing was put out under Ted Dun Know Productions as catalog TDN003. It’s one of those releases that shows him already thinking beyond a straight roots rhythm, nudging his catalogue toward dubwise textures and sharper, more modern drum patterns.
