Grow With Me Riddim – Immusic

A nice little 2008 rootsy set from Immusic, with Sizzla, Jah Cure, Gyptian, Black Dillinger and Rebellion the Recaller all cutting their own angle on the same slow-burning groove. “Hold On” has that patient, uplift-first feel Jah Cure does so well, while Black Dillinger’s “It’s All Right” leans into a warmer, more reflective tone rather than trying to overpower the riddim. Sizzla’s “Most High” keeps the spiritual edge upfront, and Gyptian’s “Bingimans Wife” adds a younger, more melodic touch to the sequence. The whole thing stays compact too: six tracks, one version, no clutter. Immusic had this one out in 2008, and it sits comfortably in that period when reggae one-riddim sets were still giving singers and deejays plenty of room to stretch without crowding the rhythm.
