Truth Is Release Details

“Truth Is Riddim” keeps its focus on a tidy 11-track cast, and that’s part of the charm: no wasted space, just a string of vocal cuts from 2008 that lean into the sweeter side of reggae. The opening duet from I Octane and Dasia, “Nothing But Love, ” sets the mood straight away with a romantic turn, while Da’Ville’s “There For You” and Voicemail’s “I Apologize” give the set a more pleading, radio-friendly edge. Elsewhere, Lutan Fyah’s “Been To Many Places” and Norris Man’s “Confusing Flesh” bring a steadier roots touch, which keeps the riddim from drifting too far into pure lovers rock. Twelve Records had a busy hand in that period, and this one sits neatly in the year’s reggae run, with enough variety to make the lineup feel fuller than the track count first suggests.
