Abendigo Riddim – Links Entertainment

Three voicings and a version cut make Abendigo Riddim feel like a compact little 2008 showcase rather than a sprawling juggling, with Vavvy, Hawkeye and Iceman each getting a turn over Links Entertainment’s production. The track names point to a conscious, message-first direction — “That’s What You Get, ” “Nuh Clean” and “Words Of Wisdom” — and the riddim itself sits in that mid-2000s reggae zone where the groove is steady, the drums stay clipped, and the bassline does most of the talking. Hawkeye’s “Nuh Clean” is the sharpest fit on paper, while Iceman’s tune sounds like it would lean a little more heavily into the roots side of the rhythm. It’s a short release, but the version at the end makes the whole thing feel properly assembled, with a measured pace and a deep, rolling low end holding everything in place.
