Groovin Riddim – Jasfar Production

By 2008, reggae was still deep in that post-digital period where one-riddim sets tended to lean on crisp live-band feel rather than heavy computer pulse, and Jasfar Production’s Groovin Riddim sits right in that pocket. With just four cuts — Fiona’s “Changes, ” Glen Washington’s “Game Of Love, ” Sadiki’s “One Touch, ” and Mike Spice’s “When Im With You” — the project keeps the focus tight and lets the arrangement do the talking. The rhythm has a warm, mid-tempo swing, with a soft one-drop cushion, rounded bass, and guitar skank sitting close in the mix, which gives the singers plenty of room to stretch the phrasing.
