Muted heat. The Grippa Riddim has that early-2000s crossover pulse where dancehall pressure meets a more island-friendly soca lift, and VP 2200 keeps it tight across just five cuts. Rupee’s “Tempted To Touch” is the obvious hook, the one that pushed the riddim into wider circulation, but Bunji Garlin and Mr Menace’s “Dead Presidents” and Krosfyah’s “Best In Me” give it a rougher, Carnival-season snap. Peter Ram and the Ruth Collymore/Christal Aust pairing lean into the sweeter side, so the set moves between swagger and melody without losing its bounce.
