Firehouse Crew’s Lime Wire aka What’s Love Riddim comes out of that early-2000s dancehall pocket where the rhythm is nimble but still carries enough weight for the selectors, and the alternate title Live Wire fits the brighter, sharper feel of it. The set keeps the focus on melody and attitude, with Anthony B’s “King Selassie” bringing a roots-conscious edge against Lukie D’s “What’s Love” and the breezy duet cut from Tanto Metro and Devonte. Turbulence closes it out with “Big Riot, ” which pushes the tempo and leaves the riddim sounding more urgent than romantic.
