Grill Fly Riddim

Grill Fly Riddim came out of Nuh Behavia Music in July 2012, but it doesn’t feel like a cookie-cutter dancehall set so much as a sharp little crew cut for the summer, with just six tracks and a lean 17-minute run time. Kiprich and Ninjaman set the tone on the title cut, while Lady Saw and Lisa Hyper give “Life Change” a tougher, cheekier edge; together with Blacker and Og Stunna’s “Bore Tongue, ” the project hangs on fast-paced juggling and a dry, percussive groove that leaves room for the voices to jab and spar. The lineup also folds in Suku and Ninja Kidd on “Cuddle Up” and Taliban on “Ambush, ” keeping the energy tight without overloading the riddim. It was released on July 3, 2012, under Nuh Behavia Music with Zojak handling the label credit.
