Nine cuts deep, Jump Up Riddim lines up a tidy mix of voices with Top Cat, Perfect Giddimani, Skarra Mucci and Teacha Dee among the names that jump out first, while Weedy G Soundforce keeps the whole thing moving with a brisk, punchy dancehall swing that was already being talked about as a strong 2012 set. Top Cat’s “Party” and Skarra Mucci’s “Get Gal” sit right in the pocket, and the riddim’s title feels apt once Mr Traffic, Don Tippa and the rest start trading turns over the same propulsive pattern. Weedy G even closes the package with the self-titled instrumental, giving the project a neat final lap after the vocal versions.
