Gangsta Gangsta Riddim – Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games’ 2007 Gangsta Gangsta Riddim has that sharp mid-2000s dancehall tension running through it, the kind of programmed, hard-edged groove that leaves plenty of room for the mic to do the heavy lifting. Aidonia’s “Mi Clap It” and Mavado’s “Since Lately” are the tunes that jump out first, with Sizzla’s “Turn It On” adding a grittier, more militant edge to the set. The lineup is deep without feeling bloated, moving from Bling Dawg and Munga to Pennie Irie and Mr Easy, so the riddim keeps shifting from raw street energy to sly, chant-heavy swagger. There’s also a Vybz Kartel cut in the full tracklist, which gives the whole thing a little extra pull; the version cut sits in there too, almost like a wink.
