Full Throttle Riddim - Studio Vibes Entertainment

Studio Vibes Entertainment’s Full Throttle Riddim landed in 2014 and came out through 21st Hapilos Digital, which gives it the clean, digital-era dancehall polish that defined a lot of mid-2010s juggling projects. The riddim runs just over ten tracks and is anchored by an instrumental, which makes it feel like a proper selector-ready piece rather than just a loose compilation.

The cut list is stacked with names that were active across the dancehall circuit at the time: Chan Dizzy, Currenci, Deablo, Demarco, Elephant Man, Melloquence and Tony Matterhorn. Chan Dizzy had already been building a reputation through work with a range of producers and came into this period as a young voice with real local momentum. Demarco, born in Portmore, had long since moved from sound-system roots into full artist mode, and his A You Me Say has the sort of clipped, melodic phrasing he does so well. Elephant Man, the “Energy God” from Kingston, brings the biggest hype name on the set, while Tony Matterhorn, the Kingston-born selector turned deejay, adds veteran sound-man authority on Nuh Friend.

The rhythm itself has a brisk, forward-driving feel that suits the title. It carries a sharp, hard-edged dancehall pulse with space for both gruff chat and more playful turns, and the radio/raw split on several cuts suggests a project aimed squarely at selectors and street rotation. Melloquence’s Tipsy and Currenci’s Every Gal Thing help broaden the mood, while the Demarco and Elephant Man selections give the riddim its clearest pull.
