Fish and Bammy Riddim – Ranch Entertainment

Warm enough. Fish and Bammy Riddim feels like one of those compact Ranch Entertainment sessions that doesn’t overreach, just settles into a mellow reggae groove and lets the voices do the talking. Rayvon opens the trio with “Hold Tight, ” which sits nicely in that smooth, lightly romantic lane Shaggy’s Ranch camp has long favoured, while Amber Lee’s “I Wonder” adds a softer, more reflective edge before Tony Gold’s “Magical (Your Love Is)” closes things with a sweeter turn. Ranch Entertainment itself has the sort of family-tree energy that comes from the Shaggy/Rayvon/Red Fox circle, and you can hear that polished, easygoing studio touch here. It’s a small set, really, just three cuts and an instrumental feel in the background.
