FIRESIDE JAM RIDDIM produced by VARIOUS LABELS 1993
Fireside Jam Overview
In 1993, the Fireside Jam Riddim was born in a small Kingston studio. The producer, Various Labels, was already known for crafting clean, catchy dancehall rhythms. Various Labels had worked with several top artists before, and their productions often got heavy play at street dances across Jamaica. Their focus on tight harmonies and lively beats made this riddim stand out from the start. As word spread, artists lined up to voice on the beat. Beenie Man, who would later win a Grammy for his album "Art and Life," brought his energy with "Settlement." Galaxy P followed with "Check Unno self," delivering his unique flow. General Degree, known for his hit "Traffic Blocking," added "Bodyguard" to the set. Judas gave his take with "Big And Tall," while Merciless, famous for his clash tunes and the song "Mavis," dropped "Body Good." The tape also featured Tanto Metro on "Hot And Spicy," Tanya Stephens with "You Are The Man," Terry Ganzie’s "Showdown," and a team-up from Wayne Wonder & Spragga Benz on "Never Keeping Secrets." Each artist brought their own style, making the riddim a favorite at every yard session. Soon, the set was everywhere—bumping from sound systems, moving crowds, and driving the bashment scene. The Fireside Jam Riddim became a true dancehall classic, capturing the sound of 1993.
