Early Bird Riddim comes out of the 2013 Trinidad soca run with a light, early-morning bounce that suits the name, but it’s the lineup that does the talking: Allison Hinds cuts through with “No Way, ” Destra turns up the heat on “Aye You, ” and Barry Chandler’s “Cropover” nods straight at the Carnival calendar. Star Blu Entz were already working that polished, party-ready soca feel around this period, and this set sits neatly alongside their other 2013 work without sounding like a rerun. With six tracks and six voices, it’s a compact release, more festival-season snapshot than sprawling compilation, and it fits squarely into the label’s small but focused soca catalogue for that year.
